Walter died in the crash of his light plane near Chilliwack while still in his 20's.

Walt was one of five brothers and a sister. I was able to contact his sister, Ruth in Vernon, and she referred me to their brother Ed.
Ed sent the photos of Walt's passport photo, business card, pilot's license and shoulder flash as well as the following heart-felt statement:
"Walt loved to fly, loved motorcycles, (especially his temperamental Ducati), played guitar, had a fine appreciation of music - though he leaned towards Cliff Richard, The Lovin Spoonfuls, and some Classics.
My memories of Walt are all special. I cannot say he was or is my favourite brother...but, we were close. Walt left an enormous impression on me, he instilled the importance of truth and he modeled open mindedness.
We communicated despite our difference in age.
I identified my dear brother at the airplane crash site, I testified at the inquest. I was just a teen....it hurt so intensely, but you couldn't keep me away - I miss him.
